Hair Transplant Procedure

Our specialist team will put you at ease from the very beginning. Before your procedure, the surgeon provides you with a thorough breakdown of how long they expect the operation to last. So we generally advise patients to make arrangements to bring in a favourite box set or something similar prior to the operation, this may be several hours. Our surgeon will explain the dos and don’ts as soon as your hair transplant is done. Your transplanted hair generally takes between 3 months to begin developing.

We’ve seen our patients transformation following a Hair Replacement operation, not just in physical appearance but in confidence and general well-being.

Types Of Treatment – FUE & FUT

At Capital Clinic, we favour the two most popular and effective methods of hair transplant – FUE & FUT. It should be noted that FUT and FUE aren’t competing forms of hair transplantation, but in-fact complimentary procedures. Throughout your consultation, we’ll assess which approach you’re most suited for and what’s going to provide the very best, most natural- looking results.

FUE Treatment

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a more complex way of getting donor hair for transplant. Rather than removing a strip of hair-bearing skin from the donor area as with FUT, the hair is separately removed utilising a distinctive punch tool changing in diameter from 0.06 – 0.09mm. This technique leaves no scar tissue and does make healing quicker.

Hair is then meticulously put back into the balding place in a naturally occurring gradient to give the most natural appearance. Because of the constitutional temperament of the grafts being taken out, it does take additional time to perform than FUT.

Both procedures are performed using state-of-the-art microscopes and under local anaesthetic to minimise post-operation recovery.

We propose you take 3 days off after your surgery to allow time for the grafts to settle although both operations are minimally invasive.

FUT Treatment

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) is an older technique, which includes taking a strip of hair-bearing skin from the donor region, generally in the back of the head. Specialist technicians are then tasked with dissecting the strip, being cautious not to damage the strongest and most dense hair roots.

Our highly skilled surgeons ensure the donor area is sutured to make a narrow scar, which a hairdresser would struggle to find. Our surgeon will carefully rebuild your new hairline giving you a look that’s dense and natural once this has been carried out. It ought to be mentioned that regardless of what procedure you selected, the outcome will look the same, as the grafts are implanted the exact same way. It is only the extraction technique that’s different.
