Our Treatments
We specialise in Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT). These are not mutually exclusive but complementary techniques and each can be better suited to an individual’s particular hair loss. FUE focuses on removing and transplanting individual follicles from one location to another. FUT on the other hand involves removing a strip with hair follicles on them, subdividing the strip of hair follicles and inserting them where they need to be.

The main culprit for baldness in men is male pattern baldness.
According to the NHS around 50% of all men in the UK will be affected by male pattern baldness in their lifetime. 25-30% of men will actually experience baldness before the age of 30!
According to another study by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery around 40% of men will experience visible hair loss by the age of 35
The most visible initial sign is a receding hairline. This is followed by the thinning of the hair around the crown and temple area.
Most cases of male pattern baldness will stabilise at some point preserving the hair round the sides and back but in a small number of cases it can lead to complete baldness
The condition can be hereditary. In fact, many studies have linked it to oversensitive hair follicles that react to a by-product of the naturally occurring hormone testosterone.
Aside from this type of baldness there are many other causes of baldness caused by genetic, autoimmune, environmental, hormonal and even psychological factors.
As a specialist hair transplant clinic, we can help you remedy any issues you may have with hair loss whatever the cause may be.

Why a hair transplant you may ask?
There are many benefits to hair transplant surgery over other forms of hair loss treatments.
Firstly, one of the main reasons is that it is proven to work. You are simply taking hair from the donor site and implanting the hair into the thinning or balding area.
Hair transplant surgery is a radical way to overhaul your appearance with tangible visible results in the space of a year or less.
Most other forms of hair loss treatment focus on retaining what’s left whereas hair transplant surgery reverses -to varying but visible degrees- the effects of hair loss.
Secondly it is permanent and does not require top up treatments.
Other forms of hair loss treatments may require some form of regular maintenance. This can be quite an expense if added up over a period of time. Hair transplant surgery in many -but not all cases- is a one-time cost.
So no more expensive shampoos and lotions! Hair transplant surgery results in normal natural hair follicles being implanted into the region of baldness. These follicles require no special treatment. So, you can discard the bottles and focus on one less thing in your day to day life.
Last but not least it can transform your life. Our appearance makes up a large part of who we are and how we are perceived. It is not uncommon to see people who have had a successful hair transplant surgery be more confident and have higher self-esteem than before.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
DO YOU OFFER HAIR TRANSPLANTS TO WOMEN?
We do offer hair transplant surgery for women who are worried about hair loss. We understand sudden or gradual hair loss can be a concerning experience for women. Our trained staff can have a friendly and professional chat with you about any concerns your may have and advise on the most suitable course of action.
WILL I BE LEFT WITH A SCAR?
Contrary to what people say both methods of FUE and FUT hair transplants will leave extremely small marks on your scalp, the difference being that in FUE the marks are small circular holes compared to with FUT that will leave you with a small horizontal marking, once both have healed they are virtually undetectable
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR MY HAIR TO GROW?
This is probably the main question and quite rightly so, the thing to remember is hair growth takes time, although after 3/4 weeks you will see hair growth do not be surprised if some your grafts then shed, this is totally natural. The bulb of the hair is still implanted in your scalp and will re grow. You will notice significant growth from 3 months onwards and from then on your hair will only get longer and thicker, we do advise that it takes up to one year for hair to reach its peak length and density.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR ME TO RECOVER?
We recommend taking 3-5 days off work to allow for redness to go down, this also allows your newly implanted grafts (hairs) to settle.
IS IT LOCAL OR GENERAL ANAESTHETIC USED FOR MY PROCEDURE?
All our procedures are carried out using local anaesthetic.
DO YOU OFFER FINANCE/PAYMENT PLANS?
Yes, we can offer 0% finance (subject to status)
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
At Capital Clinic we realise every patient is unique that’s why we do not have a general price chart, for more information please see our pricing page.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY PROCEDURE?
Directly after your procedure our surgeon will run through the “do’s and don’ts” for your new hair over the next few days.
DOES IT HURT?
The short and simple answer is no, all procedures are carried out using local anaesthetic so apart from a few mild discomforts in the local anaesthetic being injected you literally won’t feel a thing.
IS THERE A CONSULTATION FEE?
No there is no consultation fee. We provide free consultations to everyone. This means that you get a change to sit down and talk to an expert about what you’re after and whether it’s feasible. Simply contact us to arrange your consultation.
