Hair Transplant Procedure
Our specialist team will put you at ease from the very start. Ahead of your procedure, the surgeon provides you with a thorough breakdown of how long they expect the surgery to last. This might be several hours so we generally advise patients to make arrangements to bring in a favourite box set or something similar prior to the operation. Our surgeon will explain the dos and don’ts as soon as your hair transplant is complete. Your transplanted hair normally takes between 3 months to begin developing.
We’ve viewed our patients transformation following a Hair Replacement operation, not just in physical appearance but in confidence and general well-being.
Types Of Treatment – FUE & FUT
At Capital Clinic, we favour the two most popular and effective methods of hair transplant – FUE & FUT. It must be mentioned that FUT and FUE are not competing types of hair transplantation, but actually complimentary means. Throughout your consultation, we’ll assess which approach you’re most eligible for and what’s going to produce the best, most natural- looking results.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a more advanced way of getting donor hair for transplant. Rather than removing a strip of hair-bearing skin from the donor region as with FUT, the hair is individually removed utilising a distinctive punch tool changing in diameter from 0.06 – 0.09mm. This technique does make healing quicker and leaves no scar tissue.
Hair is then meticulously planted back into the balding area in a naturally occurring gradient to provide the most natural look. Due to the inherent temperament of the grafts being taken out, it does take additional time to perform than FUT.
Both procedures are performed using state of the art microscopes and under local anaesthetic to minimise post-procedure recovery.
We propose you take 3 days off following your surgery to allow time for the grafts to settle although both operations are minimally invasive.
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) is an older technique, which includes taking a strip of hair-bearing skin from the donor area, generally in the rear of the head. Specialist technicians are then tasked with dissecting the strip, being cautious not to damage the strongest and most dense hair roots.
Our highly skilled surgeons ensure the donor area is sutured to leave a thin scar, which a hairdresser would struggle to discover. Our surgeon will carefully rebuild your new hairline giving you once this has been carried out, a look that is dense and natural. It ought to be noted that regardless of what procedure you selected, the outcome will appear the same, as the grafts are implanted the identical way. It is only the extraction technique that is different.
